70 Years of Disney's Song of the South - Myron Smith - Animation Treasures
It was 70 years ago today on November 12 1946 that Walt Disney's "Song of the South" was released. Unfortunately the Disney Company has kept the film from public view for a very long time denying millions of animation fans the opportunity to see this masterpiece through legitimate means. Questionable concerns about portraying racism in the post Civil War era have kept it in the dark even though the film in many ways was groundbreaking in its depiction of racial harmony.
