'Chronos' - Gobelins - Annecy 2007

I found this while enjoying animation on the Web. It's from The Gobelins School in France. Gobelins has produced many animated teasers over the years for the Annecy Animation Festival taking place soon from June 10 through 15 2013. "Chronos" was created for that purpose. An imaginative combination of current and really old school animation. In honor of Annecy and the excellence of French animation I'll be featuring classic teasers over the next few days. Let's get started with this clever trip in time...

'Chicago - Five Great Buildings' - Al Boardman

I love Chicago. Anytime I have a chance to share my affection for this great city I do so with enthusiasm. Known for its architectural legacy and for the birth of the skyscraper this animated video by Al Boardman features five of the great many landmarks that distinguish Chicago. Not enough to satisfy ardent Chicagophiles but adequate for an entry on AN's homepage. The music is by Chris Zabriskie.

Making of 'Drunk Aliens' - Lightfarm Studios

Take a look at how a digital composition is created from scratch. This is the work of Rafael Vallaperde of Lightfarm Studios in Melbourne, Australia. This won the Best Modeling Award in the annual CG Society competition recently whioch is the equivalent of an Oscar for digital artists. ZBrush and Modo 701 were the primary programs for creating this image.
