Thanks to ANer lavellelee who's affiliated with Traditional Animation.com and FlashCartoons.org, we can enjoy a Sneak Peak Report of the new Disney resort opening this week. It's called Disney's "Art of Animation Resort" and along with people the world over who appreciate the art behind animation, it is really something to celebrate!
According to the resort's official website, the attraction is now open and welcoming guests. The resort is part of the Disney World complex in Orlando, Florida. What makes the Art of Animation Resort special is that it's dedicated to the art of animation. The entire facility is focused on the pre-production drawing, design and visual development and story work that's involved in the birth and growth of an animated film. Take a look at video of what the Art of Animation Resort is about. There's additional video compiling at the Forum topic. Great to see animation art being the center of attention in such a way.

If you're looking for a good bellwether as to where Indian animation is at nowadays, here's another great example. Watch the trailer for "Arjun: The Warrior Prince". It opened today, May 25, 2012.
Produced by Indian studio UTV Motion Pictures and Disney India and directed by Arnab Chaudhuri, the film centers on the mythological story of the rise of a courageous hero from the Mahabharata era who sacrifices much to reach his goals. It's a mix of traditional hand drawn and CG animation, and it is quite exquisite. A wonderful example of just how good Indian animation has become. You can find more info about the film here.

After several weeks of building an online following, the "New Eden" pilot debuts on the Web on May 29, 2012.
New Eden follows the adventures of bickering odd couple Murray and Hamilton, two starship crewmen marooned and fighting for their lives on a primordial world after their starship crash lands on the wrong planet. A labor of love for independent creative duo Brett Snelgrove and Freek van Haagen, the New Eden pilot is inspired by their love of off-kilter comedy and a childhood of watching science fiction cartoons.
Working with branded content agency Krempelwood, Brett and Freek hope to align with a sponsor for New Eden to turn it into an ongoing animated Web series that we can all enjoy. For more info and lots of links to the developing New Eden franchise and community, follow this link. Meanwhile, take a look at the trailer for the upcoming New Eden pilot episode...

This is a cool way of creating animated films. Take it On The Road as Lucia Cernekova and Peter Luha have done. In this film, "Der Turm", they used stop motion along with hand created drawing and painting to come up with a unique and intriguing visual experience. Backed by original music, Der Turm is an ode to the East German people who attempted to escape their oppressive regime by crossing the Baltic Sea. It's been screening at a series of international festivals across Europe since March and will continue into June of this year. For more info about the film click here. You can also see another film created by Lucia and Peter by heading to this topic on the Forums.
