Remember this? 'The Duck Factory' w/ Jim Carrey - 1984

It was a different sitcom. A young guy from the Midwest arrives in Hollywood to pursue his dream of working in an animation studio.

The star of the show was none other than Jim Carrey. It was his first time in the limelight.

Here's the pilot episode...

This series was prophetic for its time. Runaway production, age discrimination, non-creative executives taking over, all issues that were happening in animation even at that time...

Of course! Totally enjoyed this show. Back ten we were all "Disney hungry" as the only way ot see Disney toons was those rare shows or you had to go to Disneyland.

Heard from a friend today, who was excited enough about the discovery of The Duck Factory through this post on AN that he bought the entire 13 episode series on DVD. He's sharing with friends who are getting into it now. Maybe this will get a new light shed upon it. I think it was ahead of its time by about 27 years.
