On Thursday, April, 1, 1999 at 1:00 P.M., the entire American Animation Industry is going to gather in the Empire Room of the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City, for a mass meeting and celebration of itself. Every animation artist in every animation studio in the Los Angeles area involved in the production of traditional animation for motion pictures and television is called to get up from their desks, chairs, tables, offices or homes and come to the Sportsmen's Lodge at Ventura Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Road.
Everybody come! Old timers, living legends, pioneers, Union, non-union, features, TV, commercials, employed, unemployed, students, teachers, friends!
Everybody! Come spend the afternoon at the Sportsmen's Lodge and have a good time! Come and see people you used to work with or make new friends. Come and network a little. Come and see what's happening. Let's talk about the future. Let's swap stories and share ideas.
Let's claim the future of the industry!
Let's make a commitment to unite, no matter what your affiliation! Let's talk about ways of restructuring and reorganizing! Let's talk about putting together some new studios and launching new projects!
Let's make a stand together! Let's show the entire entertainment industry how united and proud we are!
Let the industry see us flex!
If you don't want to come to work in the morning, don't! You deserve a day off! It's April Fools Day! Let's honor our executives! If they can't take a joke and threaten you with your job, then take a nice, long, lunch break! Come and be with us!
Let's do something great together! A great act of defiance and alliance!
SPREAD THE WORD!
