Things aren't quite what they seem in the fairy tale scenario created by Vasil Shotarov. "Naughty Princess" is a finals project from Bournemouth University in Dorset UK. 

This is an interesting look at the repetitive cycle of dating as portrayed by London / Melbourne based animator Vera Babida. "There Again" is a graduate film project while attending the Edinburgh College of Art. 

This being July 4 we celebrate Independence Day in the USA when our country was born in 1776. This year is an election year and with all that involves especially in our current political climate it would be nice to see how the American flag was honored in 1939 in a Merry Melodies cartoon from Warner Bros featuring a very young Porky Pig and his recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Another masterful animated film from the French. This short deals with longing for a lost love who happens to attend the same party. Subject matter is mature so be careful if you're viewing this at work or in an inappropriate situation. "Aline" by Florian Perron from the Ecole Emile Cohl in Lyon.

The first trailer for the feature film "Trolls" from DreamWorks is now online. It will be in general release on November 4 2016.

This student film will really get you thinking. It's called "Falling Tide" and it's the creation of Ning Cheng from Cal Arts and was completed this year.

Crash Bandicoot fans are excited about the revival of the franchise as the iconic video game character will be making his first appearance in several years. The venue is the upcoming "Skylanders Imaginators" in October 2016. More good news as the first three Crash games will be remastered for PlayStation 4

There's a commercial studio with offices in New York City, Los Angeles and Sydney that is producing excellent animated content. Here's an example of some of the recent work coming from Buck.

Here's an animated video dealing with issues of one's person which is beneficial to watch. "Self-Esteem" by London based Jesse Collett explores the roots of what makes us feel good about ourselves. Created for The School of Life...   

Many times as I watch animated shorts and videos in search of content to share through AN I find myself gaining helpful knowledge and learning from the viewing experience. Case in point is this work by Daniela Sherer entitled "What to Do About Insomnia".  Daniela is based in Tel Aviv and London. The video is commisioned by the School of Life.
