It's time to ruffle some feathers.

You know what? I don't care how many people show up at the meeting. If it's just you, me and baby makes three, I don't care. I'd rather sit around in the Empire Ball Room with the warriors and help plan a long term collective strategy than trying to convince the sheep to excersize some assertiveness of their own.

The movement that defines itself as Animation Nation is real. It's not going to go away. As time goes by, it's going to get stronger and stronger and stronger. It makes no difference whether or not we bring the gears of the industry to a harmless halt on a Monday afternoon. We're going to do it again next year. And the year after. And the year after that. And the year after that until this industry folds up nice and neat and fits into our mutual back pockets.

Need a good reason to show up? You may want to get a look and listen to the comments of animation artists who may very well wind up being some of your future employers. Or you can go and hang your hats on the traditional studios, clinging to a system that can't possibley deliver the promise that it's repeatedly failed to keep.

Last year at this time, there was a lot of uncertainty, anger and resolve. This year, the resolve is backed by confidence, a great deal of progress and an industry that is evolving into an independent's dream.

We can make a strong statement to an industry that wants to ignore how the artists feel, if we come together on one day. You can help by getting the message out.

April 3rd at 1:30. Sportsmen's Lodge. Ventura and Coldwater Canyon. Studio City.
