Thanks Bonnie! This is what happens when you have hundreds of great artists working on an uninspiring premise for a feature cartoon. There was nothing dynamic about "El Dorado", both the trailers and the general marketing of the film were complete garbage, i saw some great action scenes in "The Making of El Dorado" that should have been used in the trailers just to give it that "wow" factor. Out of the three Dreamworks animated features El Dorado just seemed like the bastard child of the bunch, with most of the hype surrounding the Elton John song rather than the feature itself. I could go on an endless rant about the mistakes made by the excutive staff at Dreamworks but i'll try to refrain from upsetting anyone that may have be affiliated. I will however say that i loved The Prince of Egypt and i believe it's success was due to the fact that many parents made it a priority to have their kids see the film for educational purpposes as well as entertaintment. Antz....i actually saw it just to make the comparison to A bug's Life.
Just a question, what's wrong with allowing creative minds to actually "create" instead of following the directions of a bunch of out of touch executives?
