: Yes, Duncan has left his lead on Thrax at Osmosis. I wont try and give the neutral line but I think he was not happy with all the changes in design and the script . He was never quite settled on those issues and the film is going through it's final twists of story revisions. The work that I saw him do was truly excellent so it was not a quality issue at all. That was never a problem . It was just rather sudden but these things tend to be o9n films that have crazy deadlines. Dean Wellins will be taking over the lead I hear since his characters are near done. Jim Vander Kyle will be helping out Dean and someone told me he will be finishing anything that was not complete yet (both are incredibly good animators so it should flow very smoothly despite) . All of us were kind of shocked but on films done this fast decisions tend to be made quickly. All of us are very sorry to know he has left but as I tried to say to Dave Gerry earlier, there is nothing absolute in the world of animation and crew changes tend to happen. I know that Duncan will do well no matter what so for all of us on Osmosis we wish him the best and hope to work together again in the future. He will be missed.
Hey Dave,
Sorry to hear about Duncan. He one of my favourite animator's. I have enjoyed Duncan's work over the years. Just looking at his drawings in some of the Disney books I do have. He is one the best animators around that gets the "essence" of the character.
