: : : "We the animators of Toronto, will probably not be seeing any of the animation from the Nelvana aquisition of the PBS animation agreement. And we agree with the protest on many grounds. Yes the animation should be kept in the states to employ american-based animators since americans are paying for it. At least 80% of the total production of any series produced by Nelvana is done overseas usually in Asia but sometimes European countries of the former Soviet Block who work much cheaper than any American or Canadian. Protest yes, but be aware Canada isn't getting your work only your money."
: Just found out that this was posted in Amid Amidi's Animation Blast. Turns out this is an old freind Al Swerling. Al is an inbetweener/ freelance graphic artist. Again, despite the fact Al has had little or no work in the last three years he felt compelled to explain. He actually was really good at his jub. Funny huh Bob ? Comments ?
Nice that you set people straight about animators not getting work up in Canada, just the companies getting business, and also that you recognized me after all this time... Lots of people are looking for work since Disney up and left. Come down from the mountain and call your old friends up in the great white north.. well its sort of brown now... and you missed my birthday again , you , you , well!.
