Congratulations, Tom Sito, Steve Hulett and everyone at the Union for organizing the picket of PBS affiliate KCET yesterday! I kept the picket signs I was carrying as souvenirs. They will become part of the archives of The Animation Academy.

For those of you who made the decision not to go, I'll try and describe what you missed. It was a day which will live in our history. You should have seen the KCET executives looking at us at the gate. There were a couple of really cool little gals in front of me just giving it to them with a smile and all the class that makes an animation professional.

There was this homeless dude who had a bit to nip at, but was perfectly in control. He grabbed up a picket sign and started walking around with us with this big, semi-toothless smile on his face saying "We're the red, white and blue."

Truck drivers were honking their horns and even the ABC Channel 7 Eyewiteness News truck gave us a big blast as it drove by.

One kick-ass artist I know showed up on his Harley and was picketing wearing his Emilio Zapata tee-shirt.

The only thing I regret is not bringing the American flag we have here at the school to hold it to the sky.

Regardless of what KCET or any other broadcast entity does, nothing can take away the victory that the Union and all of its supporters had on the streets of Hollywood on Thursday, April 13, 2000!
