: I haven't seen ANY media coverage by the local LA stations...at least nothing at the 6 o'clock slot.
: Was there a media presence there or not???
I saw a radio crew and several TV crews there, but also didn't see anything on the early news (though I wasn't watching closely). I did hear a little report on (I believe) National Public Radio. They had some quotes from Steve Hulett and Tom Sito (who I do not think were even identified as to who the hell they were), as well as a couple of other participants. The reporter didn't really frame the issues at all. They also did not interview anyone from PBS. The final word was given over to a Canadian official, who reframed the entire issue as being about Canadian content on Canadian TV! The reporter agreed that it is a travesty that American's don't realize that 80% of the material on Canadian TV is from the US. In the end the reporter and this official had effectively made the protesters (us)sound like a bunch of crybabies who unfairly don't want Canadians to produce their own shows. Not a single word was spoken about the work actually being done in China.
