I wonder if productions run away because:

(a) the United States doesn't offer the kinds of tax breaks for filmmaking that Canada and Australia do

(b) above-the-line salaries inflate the costs of production

(d) the U.S. dollar just "goes farther" in other countries (buying materials, etc.), or

(e) all of the above
