The Zen of being artistic

I thought it might be a good time to discuss this as what I have noticed in the biz lately is not just a " dog eat dog competition" but in some cases the sadistic enjoyment of other peoples suffering. A sadistic desire to cause others suffering. I've watched people turn toxic the moment they had something to unload professionally. Yeah, it's sick but , no one seems to say anything. It's pretty childish.

People trying to empty their pockets of pain and hand it to others. A good director pal o mine told me he got so sick of the huge ego's in drawn animation that he change to CGI where artists weren't able to attach their egos to every drawing.

As animation nation moves forward and we discuss the nature of the "untamed exec" I think it is important that we examine the artist as well. Know our own weakness (as Snakebite brought up about how easy we are to manipulate). Without that I think we doom ourselves to failure because these self hating qualities are the easiest for the exec to exploit. When people get to the point they actually enjoy other peoples suffering they should quit the biz.
