I'm sure this is probably something everyone, including Snakebite, already know, but just in case: union membership is never an issue in being hired at a union studio. Studios don't ask about it, and the union has no influence on who a producer decides to hire. Besides, you can't can't just go out and join the union. You get hired at a union studio, at which time you are automatically in the union (yep, whether you like it or not). I think Snakebite was just being playful, but just wanted anyone who's lurking to know that you don't need to be in the union to get a union job (unlike many industries).
