There's a disturbing trend that I suppose is not really new, but I see a lot of companies neglecting the pitches and ideas of the various artists who work IN the studios. Instead, what studios look for is something with a big name, a sure thing, based on an already well known property. I shudder to think about how many incredible projects have gone the way of the Dodo due to the cowardice of studios to make truly original, entertaining CARTOONS( not sit-coms where people talk talk talk and nothing else ) It is this kind of cowardice that will crippple and eventually kill our industry. I even heard one producer saying she didn't like an animators pitch because it was " TOO CREATIVE" What the hell???
