Haven't seen it, but heard good things about it. With the schedule I keep, it's difficult for me to stay on top of movie-going and screenings. I rely on people giving me their impressions of films and on occasion, dropping off a video for me to watch. Kind souls.
I recently saw a film on video by a Canadian animator whose name escapes me, I'm ashamed to say, but whose work doesn't. It was called "The Man Who Planted Trees" I believe that it is a contemporary work. I'm told that it took him years to finish. I was very moved by it. Extraordinary filmmaking.
I've also had the opportunity of seeing a video of the first animated feature in history. Nope. Not Disney's "Snow White". I think it was called "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp". German, around 1926. Cutouts were used. The animation was haunting. Ahead of its time in many ways.
