: The thing that bugs me are executives expecting animation the quality of, say, "Tarzan," for a TV show on a shoestring budget and schedule. While companies spend loads on "writers" and "executives" they rarely want spend when it comes to design and animation. Not to mention they'd get a bigger bang out of their butts if they'd design the show taking into consideration the time and budget constraints. (i.e.: the original "Flinstones")
And that is where prime time budgets should apply. The Flinstones and the Simpsons both were made for a more adult audience and at one time that was where the money was. There was a time where execs were so lost they thought that they tried to pass off shows with heavy detail as full. I am glad we are past the "shadows equal quality" executive phase at least.
