What kind of signal does Pokemon send out to studios after making $52 million dollars since it's opening on
Warner invested some $5 million for the distribution rights? Tie ins with Burger King I believe
probably covered most of the advertising budget, so it was a cash cow for them.
Will this send studios looking for the next big foreign property to exploit?
Is adult animation a dead avenue to pursue and only kiddie fare the correct route?
Very curious, because after Rugrats grossed $100 million, execs around the "palace" where I work
kept saying over and over, we have to make more movies like Rugrats. Course none of them even
clued in that it had a built in audience beforehand, which was the only reason for it's success
While it is great that animated films all do well, will it keep the wheels turning
for original material to be produced?
