: : This is what I'm talking about, Charles. People getting all excited about the "animations" they can create ... it ain't what we do.
: : I can always tell on a person's resume if they say something like, "I have extensive experience in creating animations ..." At that point their resume goes into the circular file.
: : Macromedia Director was something put together by somebody trying to re-invent the wheel for another universe. A whole new generation of "animationers" is learning a whole 'nother set of rules and definitions and techniques. Are these "animations" going to become TV shows or movies? The thrill of making something move wears off quickly.
: : In the mean time, the animators that this site is all about are making cartoons for the big(ger) screens ... and all it needs is simple file translation to put it on the web.
: sheesh - what a way to tell a guy he's welcome!
: All I wanted to know was the quickest(NOT the cheapest at the expense of quality) way to get line art INTO the computer AND THEN ASSEMBLING THE SEQUENCE DIGITALLY. With a little intuition, you can see the immense possiblities present in being able to edit the frames before they are committed to final sequence. It is not an efficient procedure to perform YET, but it will be - given the quantum leaps in processing/bussing speed that the computer industry delivers every three to six years. The drudgery of scanning is the only major technical hurdle left(besides internet delivery).
: If we expect to progress in a responsible, healthy manner, we need to keep our eyes and minds open to possible solutions from anywhere. Some of the greatest solutions and inventions began as accidents.
Whats up Jon, why so sensitive. This guy sounds like an individual trying to do what he can about new approaches to the evolution
and you have to go off like he killed all your hopes there for a minute.
Approaches to art is like color its very subjective and your the last person to make a brotha' feel like hes doin' something wrong. The idea is to uplift not kick down....stop drinkin so much coffe or something.
