: I'm all over that idea, Charles, and in fact have been trying to get something going for some time now.

: Can ANYONE direct me to a software program that will take our finished audio-visual videos and translate them into something that can be viewed and heard on the web?

: I keep hearing all about Macromedia Flash and other similar software, but with those you basically have to create the cartoon from scratch, and do it according to their definitions and restrictions. It's like I have this Cadillac to sell, but to sell it, I have to compact it, melt it down, trade the materials to a Yugoslavian bakery in exchange for flour, eggs, water, and sugar, whereupon I can begin baking a cake that will end up looking like a Cadillac.

: It's another case of computers providing hoops to jump through rather than solutions to our needs.

: I mean, there is a program called "Snappy" that can grab video images and turn them into JPG files. Why can't there be something that does the same thing but with sound and movement? I have to think there is. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, how about sharing?

Hello! Someone call for a technician? There is a way to use your video files to create something for the web using Flash. Iím sure you already have other programs which are capable of doing the same. You donít need Snappy. Iíve been using the internet for 16 years, and doing computer animation since 1991. My husband, is a systems administrator and music instructor and, therefore, responsible for evaluating and testing all kinds of new software. So, if you need any technical advice Iím sure we could at least point you in the right direction. Iíve been very interested in the discussions going on here at this site and would like to work with anyone interested in creating an animation project through the web. The most important thing to keep in mind is that no one program can solve all your animation and web designing needs. You need to use each program for its strengths, and to know how to use them in conjunction with one another. Donít let the technology and salespeople overwhelm you. If you email me and let me know a few more specifics weíll try to help you out!
