The best place to work always depends on the individual. The place to learn out here in southern California ,if you don't have the oppotunity to learn in a studio enviroment, is The Animation Academy ,check out their site...www.theanimationacademy.com...there all about the highball fundamentals and on a personal note I've learn so much from them.
At the Academy you'll see all kinds of people there,20 year veterans of the industy, teenagers, and even people who just got out of other "Art" schools who weren't taught the things they teach you at the Academy. This place challenges you on the things you thuoght you already knew and continues to do so on threw the semesters.
Everyone there shows so much kindness and generosity, egos are only used for friendly banter and ball busting, and to top it all off the school is very instrumental in finding one a job, and it dosen't take four years with a 60k debt....I going to give this
school "four bites", four being the highest, from my SNAKEBITE'S bites grading scale, the best antidote for poorly educated animators...
