: thanks for your response. you bring up some valid points. i'm not sure what the canadian financial contribution would really amount to, but it's a very relevant point. thanks for bringing it up. still would like to see...or be directed to... some documentation though.
Well whatever the amount , the pitch Canadians got from Mike and Goldie (she is so darn cute) the PBS drive managers was that Canadian funds were still matched exactly as if they were US viewers. There were umpteen movied drives, Ken Burns Civil War/Baseball series, Nova, Mystery Theater (Britian was taking the cash for that buddy) and on and on. Point being they have contributed. American stations have a huge broadcasting range so dont be surprise if you see rubals listed in those funds. (commrade Goldski ).
: by the way, rich animation would undoubtledly not do as good of a job as nelvana on the particular
: projects that nelvana was rewarded. they would try
: to add too much outdated music, as well as culturally irrelevant motifs. he needs to stick to bedtime stories and other material that puts
: people to sleep. they are very good at that.
That aside I would like to know what Nelvana offered them beyond what little they do to get the job and who if any they beat out. I understand the feeling that "outsiders are stealing our projects" can rally and if that is so I see it as necessary. Before the dead bodies of Canadians are dragged into the streets to be burned for the crowds pleasure it would be nice to know if it is warrented. I agree with you, I want to see figures.
