: Eugene Hall - THAT'S the name of the life drawing instructor - couldn't think of his name!!!
: Anybody know if he's still alive? He wasn't just a life drawing instructor, he was a LIFE instructor. His input was key to helping transform me from a truck-driver to an artist.
I think I had him a few times as a sub for Berger. Bill Parks, Berger (I forget his first name) Krajecki, Ted Smuzkewich (spell?) are still there. Since Shapiro died I’m not sure who’s teaching watercolor. They do have a some new galleries in the school featuring past (famous students) art, like Gil Elvgren, Irv Shapiro, Richard Schmid and Haddon Sundbloom. I’ve had the same life instruction from Bill Parks. Schmid came back to Chicago in mid 80’s to teach again at the Pallet and Chisel Academy and guest spots at the American Academy. The school is now located at 332 S. Michigan above the Utrecht Art Supplies.
