Good luck. Better people have tried in the past. The tuition subsidizes the rest of the school. The enrollment in the animation department is so massive compared to the five or six people in the guitar or dance department, that the school needs to take the funds from the animation program to support these other programs. As I said before, several really strong attempts were made in the past to change this with no effect. The only improvements come from grants from larger studios. Besides isn't this a self-serving statement to promote your own school? A lot of the teachers at CalArts are not academic quacks but people who really care about the animation industry and the direction it is headed. They are in absolutely no position to change policy. I appreciate your call to action, but there is no need to denegrade the efforts of those who are doing the best they can with the limited funds they have.
