TVP Animation is a 2D software (the old versions are also known as "Aura", "Mirage" and "TVPaint") and its new updates contains many new features and improvements, such as:
-a Storyboard tool
-a Camera tool to make easier camera movements for animatics
-backup system
-a peg hole trackers to stabilize scanned sheets...

This is a great software , which I use constantly for sketching , illustration, as well as animation. (it can be used to capture stop-motion frames , too.)
Besides the gallery on the main TVP web site there are additional examples of animation done with TVP on this site:

Hi everybody ! Other bugs has just been fixed :
-Lag when drawing with Mac fixed =)
-Bug when using mark in / mark out during an export is fixed
-When frames are selected, you only play them
-EDL export has been improved

Hi everybody,
A new update of TVP Animation 9 is available. This version fixes some bugs and contains a new incredible and frequently asked feature : the "Out of Pegs" This great new extension of the lightable allows you to temporarily move, scale and rotate the lightable images of the surrounding frames in order to make inbetweening easier.
The update is free for TVP Animation 9 owners !
