It took five years for Mark Nelson of the UCLA Animation Workshop to complete this film. "Jockstrap Raiders" won the Silver Medal for Animation in the 2012 Student Academy Awards as well as winning many other prestigious film festivals during its run. It's a quirky and very humorous story of a band of British misfit fighter pilots in World War I who went on to save their country from invasion. As offbeat as it is entertaining...

I recently discovered this video and must say that in the years of my career I've never yet seen footage that does a better job at describing the history of animation. Leave it to Walt Disney himself to do the honors! From 1955 produced for TV broadcast. It's in 4 parts on YouTube.
