The campus of DreamWorks Animation Studio in Glendale, California is just beyond the border with Burbank. At its heart is a special place, home to a fortunate group of fish that live an idyllic life at one of the greatest animation houses in the world. On July 22 of this year, I participated in a landmark educational conference between DreamWorks and California State University. You can read about it and see photos from the conference here. Afterwards, I had an opportunity to spend some time at the studio's pond. As I enjoyed the moment, I was visited by several of the DreamWorks locals. Follow this link to get a glimpse at some of the fish that make DreamWorks their home. |

This year at Annecy the Crystal Award for Best Feature went to this movie, "The Rabbi's Cat". Directed by Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvaux, based on Sfar's comic series with the same title, it's yet another example of the great legacy in animation that the French continue to develop. Produced by Autochenille Productions, I first brought the film to the attention of our community in June in this topic where I featured several films that were honored at Annecy. I've since started a dedicated topic on the AN Forums that focuses exclusively on this film, where several scenes from The Rabbi's Cat can be viewed. Take a look at the trailer and get a glimpse at the beautiful design, style and feel of this hand drawn, traditionally animated film.

ANer hcjehg on the Forums, who's professionally associated with HoBSoft Production, contributed to this ongoing topic regarding the upcoming CG animated feature film "Soul Man" from Blacklight Movies by posting up a second teaser that's just been released. We featured the first Soul Man teaser on August 9 on the homepage. Here's the follow up to this quite awesome looking film.

Nope, it's not a new personality in the pantheon of the World Wrestling Federation, it's from the World Wildlife Fund. Did you ever think you'd see an animated commercial from this organization touting the processing of wood products, and using a little animated tree as the brand? Well, it's happened, as this promotional cartoon went online about two weeks ago. Nicely produced through the Leo Burnett Agency of Sydney, Australia in association with LoveYourForests.org. Here's the Forum Topic and here's the video.
