Brought to our attention by Adrian 'Skynet' Foster on this topic. A stop motion animated short produced by Steven Briand with Luca Fiore during a two month internship at Partizan. Music is by Nodey & Omar and sound design by Moritz Reich. Went online around six months ago. Check out this intriguing film...

Mickey and Minnie Mouse in 'Runaway Brain' - 1995

I never got around to seeing this when it was initially released. I watched the film for the first time a few minutes ago. Had no idea just how good the production quality of 'Runaway Brain' was until I saw it for myself just now.

Directed by Chris Bailey whom I've had the pleasure of working with before, did a superb job on this Oscar nominated short. Andreas Deja is credited with the animation along with Dan Cooper on backgrounds and several other great talents. Another surprise, it was produced in Paris, France when the Disney Company had a studio operating there.

Unfortunately, the names of the French crew are not included in the credits, which is a shame. Never the less, a wonderful job on a magnificent film created at the height of the animation boom of the Second Golden Age in 1995. If you've never seen it now's your chance. If you have enjoy it again. Here's the Forum topic.

My nomination for the most unusual graduation event of any institution for higher learning. Well, you can't hold back creative people especially at one of the world's premier schools for animation. Here's video of the 2012 ceremonies at CalArts in Valencia, California. Took place last month on May 18, 2012...

'Pubertina' by Emily Brundige

One successful Internet cartoon after another is showing up. This one is episode seven of 'Pubertina' on Shut Up! Cartoons. It went online June 13, 2012, only three days ago, and already it has 275,892 YouTube views in that time as of this writing.

Best of all it's created by Emily Brundige. She was at my school The Animation Academy in Burbank prior to heading to CalArts. Yet another acclaimed Animation Academy / CalArts student making their mark. Pubertina is about a girl entering adolescence. Emily does a great job capturing this odd time in life in her quirky cartoon. More episodes and content dealing with Pubertina will be showcased in the Forum topic.

He just graduated from the Ringling College of Art and Design with a degree in computer animation and Matt Sullivan has a fine film under his wing. He created this for his senior thesis over the past three semesters and has made it public on Vimeo. Happy to showcase this work of beauty.

Credits follow at the end of the film. Take a look at "Reving Redwood". Here's the Forum topic.
