Chuck Jones 100th Birthday - LA - Sept 26 2012

There's going to be a celebration of the 100th birthday of the great Chuck Jones this coming September 26 in Los Angeles. The event is sponsored by CalArts which is his alma mater from the days when the school was called Chouinard. Chuck Jones graduated in 1930. John Lasseter will be a featured speaker at the event. 'Facundo the Great' - StoryCorps

A new episode of StoryCorps is available to view. This  one takes place in the 1950s and deals with the new kid in class and the problem of shortening the name "Facundo" to something more Anglo. From The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Endowment for the Arts. Directed by The Rauch Brothers and art directed by Bill Wray. 'Rhapsodie pour un Pot-au-feu' - Gobelins School

The French continue with their show of animation mastery in all forms of the medium, especially in hand drawn traditional works. This is from the Gobelins School in Paris which is one the several outstanding animation programs in their country.
