'Pepe & Lucas' - Brain Zoo - Kickstarter

Another crowdfunding campaign for an animated project is in the works. This one is called "Pepe & Lucas" and comes from Brain Zoo Studios in Los Angeles. The story involves a couple of clowns who are street performers relating to the economic climate during the Great Depression and inspired by the how to buy cialis in canada more recent downturn in our own modern day economy. The goal is an ambitious $350,000 and since AN is always up for getting the word out about crowdfunding campaigns within the community let's put a spotlight on this one.

'The Boxtrolls' - Laika - October 17 2014

Marking their third project together, LAIKA and Focus Features, the two companies behind the current Academy Award-nominated animated feature ParaNorman, announced today that LAIKA has begun production on "The Boxtrolls". The new movie will be released by Focus on October 17th, 2014. It's a 3D stop-motion and CG hybrid animated feature based on Alan Snow’s bestselling fantasy adventure novel Here Be Monsters

'Pig Sale' - Chen Xifeng

NISTAR - Cancer Superhero for Kids - indiegogo

With a modest crowdfunding goal of $15,000 the NISTAR campaign on indiegogo has quickly reached its goal and is surpassing it with 36 days to go until the March 12 2013 deadline. NISTAR is a graphic novel about a superhero for children with cancer. It's the effort of Shira Frimer whose husband was diagnosed with cancer and died at a very young age.
