There are two ways to post images. You can either use an external URL or upload them directly to AN. Note: Please don't upload and attach an image to your post without placing it inline first. See tutorial below.
Method #1: To upload and post your image directly onto AN, find and click on the "Upload Attachment" tab.
Click the Browse button, locate the image on your hard drive, and click open.
Optional: Put a comment below the image.
Click "Add the file" to upload the image.
Click "Place inline" to place the image directly into your post.
...or you can click "Delete file" to delete the file if you change your mind or want to use a different image.
Then you can place your image anywhere you want inside your post.
Method #2: To use an external URL from another web site, click the "Img" button on the tool bar above the text area.
...and put the URL in the middle.

Thanks for the post about how to post images ... I'm trying to work out how to get YouTube and Vimeo posting to work? Any clues?

Sorry SandSquid, looks like your post got missed in here. Youtube and vimeo are pretty easy. I should demo it here even if you already figured it out.
You need to put the video id from the URL between the BBcode like this.
