MIA ANIMATION is an industry conference that focuses on Computer Animation, Gaming, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics, Film, Web Design and Visual Arts. We have brought world-renowned industry speakers that offer master classes along with software demos and multiple panels. This year we have several panels focusing on new technologies. It has been designed to be a forum for active networking and practical information exchange with strong commitment and emphasis in education while developing and nourishing new talent.
PITCH TO THE INDUSTRY
MIA ANIMATION CONFERENCE & FESTIVAL will be holding a Pitching Contest as part of its Animation Festival. All creators are encouraged to submit their projects for consideration. The top submissions will be invited to pitch their idea in person to a panel of animation industry experts and professionals.
The winner will be scheduled interviews with three buyers/agents in the LA area to further develop the winning idea.
Animations from different genres ranging from character animation to scientific visualization, and from commercials for mainstream TV are invited to participate in this year's Animation Festival & Theater.
All entries must be uploaded by September 15th, 2012.
Conrad Montgomery is a creative executive for Cartoon Network, working on current animated comedies such as Adventure Time, Regular Show and, Mad while developing new projects for the studio.
Drew Tolman has over a decade of experience making family blockbusters and reporting to some of the most successful executives and producers in Hollywood. Ms. Tolman has moved between four studios (Fox, Disney, Universal and Warner Bros.) in both development and production in 2D Animation, 3D Animation and VFX/Live Action. She has helped build three animation studios and has managed nearly every department at one point or another. Currently, she is a Post Production Supervisor for The Walt Disney Company.

CHRIS BAILEY is currently developing and creating the Despicable Me 3D ride for Universal Studios Orlando. Recently, he has worked as a consultant to Blue Sky Studios and Fox.
This follows his successful, longstanding relationship with Fox, for which he was the Animation Supervisor on numerous Fox hits such as ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS 1 & 2, X-MEN 2, ERAGON, GARFIELD 1 & 2 and FAT ALBERT. LEAH HOYERIS a former attorney who left that field to pursue her passion for cartoons. After completing her MFA coursework at UCLA's Animation Workshop in 2001, Leah began working at Disney Television Animation, where she was for fifteen years the Director of Development for Disney Channel Animated Series. During her tenure at Disney, Leah has worked on numerous series, including "Recess," "Kim Possible" and "Phineas & Ferb." Currently, Ms. Hoyer is working with Microsoft Studios.
