The opening for Brave is a wee month away, and it'll be happening at this year's LA Film fest on June 18, 2012 before it goes everywhere else on June 22.

The red-carpet event is a special presentation for Film Independent’s 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival. Premiering in Dolby 3D, a state-of-the-art imaging solution providing audiences with a superior 3D experience, Brave is an epic tale set in the mystical Scottish Highlands where the film’s headstrong protagonist, Merida, is forced to discover the meaning of true bravery. With just over 3 weeks to go, the Brave trailers keep on coming! Here's yet another one from Disney Pixar...

I'm super stoked with a new story of epic battles and mystical legend. What i loved the most is they chose to star a female protagonist this time. Hope people will embrace this film. As i've read, this is Pixar's studio’s biggest, most exciting gamble for the record.

Checked it out today. First movie I've seen in the theatre in 2 1/2 years or so. Haven't even seen The Avengers. Moviegoing's been low priorirty due to circumstances.

Funny thing is I heard about it here (don't do TV), and didn't watch any previews so I had no idea what to expect, outside of being set in Scotland (a first, perhaps, for a major animated film).

It was a different sort of film for Pixar. Some of the toddlers in the audience got restless during a speech near the end.

Wasn't expecting a Brother Bear twist in the story, but I enjoyed it overall.
