Postby Charles » Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:42 am

We've received communication from a new group. It's called RECA and involves a network of animation schools in France.

Happy to report this as it is significant. French animation schools are leaders in education for the art and among the finest animation schools in the world.

Here's a website associated with the new organization followed by a press release.

Creation of the French Schools of Animation Network (RECA)

In the framework of the « Rencontres Animation Formation d'Angoulême » (Animation training forum of Angoulême), the creation of the French Schools of Animation Cinema Network (RECA) was announced on November 18th, 2011, effective January 1st, 2012. This decision is the result of a group effort to reflect on the stakes and the method of training in animation, with the support of the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée(CNC).

RECA vows to strictly respect the individual pedagogical and organizational specificity of each institution. It affirms their will to encourage and maintain the combination of the technical and artistic capabilities of the students with the institution's explicit set of objectives and means.

⁃ To put in place the tools for a clear training program available to the students ;
⁃ To encourage an active, constructive dialogue with the professionals in the field ;
⁃ To be a hub for the institutions and animation-related establishments for the purposes of both training and employment.
