iAnimate.net is excited and proud to announce their new Games Workshop series that will begin in May 7, 2012.

Richard Arroyo (Lead Animator) has designed the curriculum and has head hunted top professional animators from different gaming studios to be your Instructors. They will share the knowledge, experience and techniques that they have used to create some of the most thrilling games. The primary goal of iAnimate games is to teach the principles of animation, but you will also learn the lingo, the process and workflow needed to work at a game-development studio.

Live animation demo
"One of the best ways to learn is to watch somebody do it!"... Another way is to be guided to the same work process and then repeating it. We have created multiple animations and saved the progress and workflow to demonstrate the methods we have taken to create each unique animation.

Versatility in your reel
There’s a lot of animation opening in games! In all honesty, game studios want independent and quick on their feet animators. Some animators don’t get hired because of the lack of understanding the Game industry needs. If you have a reel that shows the fundamentals needed and you have some kick ass acting and action shots… you’re the guy they can use for cinematic and in game.

Awesome benefits students can expect from iAnimate:

•Extra Live Demos by Jason Ryan every week.
•Flipbook and Maya software
•Over 14 Feature Quality Character Rigs (More on May 7th)
•Live Review and QA sessions. •Very small Animator to Instructor ratio (8 per Instructor)
•Online community for peer to peer feedback. •Over 600 hundred hours (and counting) of searchable/downloadable video lectures and demos.
•Assignments tailored to in Game and Cinematic Animation.
•Lifelong membership for all graduates.
•Exposure to the top studios from all over the world.
•Student discounts from Rhinohouse.com for all iAnimate students.
•Select the Instructor with times most suitable for your schedule.
•Watch any other Instructor's recorded demos and lectures.
•Free JRA Tutorials and JRA Webinars for all students.
•No penalties for taking breaks in between workshops.
•No restrictions on how many workshops you can take.
•Frame by frame feedback.
•NO GRADES!!! The quality of your work is what matters.

This course will present a focused study of 3D animations made for the game industry. The workshop will consist of multiple live talks and demos given by the Instructor as well as prerecord video reference and video links. The goal is to show the instructors personal workflow through variety of different kind of animations, and help and give guided notes. In addition to the demo and lectures, the instructor will also assign animation task that would resemble an actual production pipeline. We will start with fundamentally rigged and simple formed character, then we will begin with understanding the certain terminologies of game animations, best practice in key framing for games, understanding animation constraints with games, animation breakdowns and work a rounds that are needed when working with a 3D engine. Students will spend time on their own recreating certain animations, which are the foundation of animating a game character.

The studies will be an emphasis on creating quality animations that create a readable, fluid and appealing character. The Workshop classes’ primary focus will be oriented for in-game and cinematic animations.

In order to qualify for iAnimate Games you must submit a reel with a good understanding of body mechanics. David Hubert (iA instructor and DreamWorks Animator) will review your reel and will email you with instructions on how to secure your place. There is a very limited number of places available so if you're ready, come and join us on this great adventure.

For more info, please visit the http://www.iAnimate.net site and email david@ianimate.net if you have any questions.

Game on!
