International festival of animated films AniFest 2012

26 April – 1 May 2012, Teplice&Duchcov, Czech Republic

All screenings, workshops and accompanying programme now online!

Create your personal festival programme and buy your tickets online, after you get your accreditation (till March 31 with 100 CZK discount).

Michel Ocelot at AniFest
The last feature by Michel Ocelot „Tales of the Night“ was screened for the first (and so far the last) time in Czech Republic at last year’s edition of Karlovy Vary IFF. AniFest will offer another unique chance. Michel Ocelot will also personally visit the festival and French Institute in Prague will on this occassion organize an exhibition called „Hidden treasures by Michel Ocelot“.

Baltic Mission - Estonian retrospective
Our three-years long Baltic mission is about to end. Although Estonian animation is known mostly because of Priit Pärn, there were and still are many great artist and animation in this country… The programme will cover the production from socialist era as well as contemporary authors, known for their sense for absurd humour and surrealist poetics. Our Estonian retrospective will aslo offer one speciality – the screening of not so well known animated commercials by Priit Pärn. Read more info

The accompanying programme: Exhibitions
The accompanying programme of this year’s festival is all about puppets – and the exhibitions are no exception – film poet Jiří Trnka in Teplice Regional Muzeum, Estonian puppets and Faruza puppets and decorations in Duchcov castle. And there’s a lot more – the past of Duchcov castle will be made alive in animations by Jan Šrámek and Martin Búřil and Culture House in Teplice will host an exhibition of original illustrations and interactive digital version of experimental comic-book by Matyáš Trnka. More info

The accompanying programme: Presentations of puppet studios
In the films as well as in workshops and presentations, we are looking for the magic of a film puppet this year. SE-MA-FOR, JPL Studio, Laika and the legendary Mackinnon&Saunders will sheir their secrets with us. More info…

AniFest in Duchcov
Estonian Puppets and videoinstalation in the Duchcov castle will be accompanied also by screenings („A Letter For Momo“ or „Coraline“) in the open air cinema, projections for children and popular Schools of Animation. Download the poster HERE.
