Motivarti.org - Mentorship site launchedThis week we launched our Motivarti Mentorship Program. Growing up in the Midwest, I never had access to industry professionals. While going to college, I tried emailing professionals here and there, but only sometimes did they respond. I currently assist two industry professionals and trust me when I say it’s not that they don’t care, it’s that they don’t have time to get back to students. Working professionals get so many emails every day with people asking them for their opinion or advice that they often feel it’s not fair to answer some and ignore others. So often, they don’t respond at all. But the thing is, a lot of them want to! There just wasn’t ever any structure to help facilitate the need between aspiring artists and the knowledge of working professionals. So the Motivarti Mentorship Program was formed to help bridge that gap. We’re hoping this mentorship will give aspiring artists all around the nation, even world, an opportunity to try and connect with the industry’s top professionals. Whether you’re hoping to get into visual development, concept design, storyboarding, animation, character design, or even children’s book illustration or theme park design we’ve striven to gather a variety of mentors just for you. If you’ve ever said to yourself, “If only I lived in LA…” this is your chance! Motivarti also pleased to be making the mentorship program available to students outside the Los Angeles area. Thanks to technology like Skype and iChat, students who would not otherwise have access to entertainment professionals can now have an opportunity to get one-on-one guidance. This is a very unique opportunity that doesn't come around very often. So we hope you might share this with your readers.
