Next AN Night - July 26 2011 - Art Jam !!!

In the season of the San Diego Comic Con, we experience two things at AN night. An awkward time to line up a guest speaker, and a great opportunity to take advantage of the creative energy everyone has as a result of the Comic Con experience.

I had an idea as to what to do, so I offered a suggestion for what we can initiate this month, and the response was resoundingly in the affirmative.

This Tuesday on July 26, we're going to sponsor an AN Night Art Jam!

Everyone in attendance will be encouraged to draw, and the evening's endeavors will be cataloged for exhibition afterwards on the AN Gallery.

A night of creative productivity in Burbank, and whatever we wind up with, we'll showcase on the site, both as a series of still pictures and perhaps even as a video of the work that's generated.

We've done something similar before, but not quite what it is that I have in mind. This will be a first time event when it comes to AN Night, and we hope you'll be able to not only attend but actively participate in commemorating the evening by virtue of the content you create.

It'll be a fun time, and I'm excited to get things rolling and see what we come up with on a communal level.

So please feel free to show up to this month's AN Night with plenty of paper and your favorite art supplies. Laptops are welcome as well if you prefer to create digitally. You can even animate if you feel like it!

The work is yours, we'll be looking to show it off with your permission.

Plenty of parking in the lot and on the spacious streets.

Doors open at 7 PM.

Jam starts at 7:30.

The event is free.

Pizza and soft drinks for sale at $5, usually around 9 PM.

Everyone welcome, feel free to bring a friend.

It's amazing how many people we get showing up on AN Night when we don't have anything special going on in the way of high profile guest speakers.

Even though it was on the light side for AN Night, we had in excess of 40 individuals show up for the Art Jam this evening. Even people who aren't artists participated in the event, and everybody had a great time.

I'll be showcasing some of the work that was created tonight by posting it in the AN Gallery soon.
