Lessons learned from Eric GoldbergOne of the modern day greats of animation, Eric Goldberg is seen in this video discussing his feelings about what's missing in both CGI and hand drawn animation. There's much to learn by listening to what he has to say.
The location looks to me to be the Burbank Marriott, and judging from the date of the upload, I'm guessing this is at CTNX 2009, the first CTN eXpo.
Re: Lessons learned from Eric GoldbergIn this video, Eric discusses animating Jiminy Crickett at the opening of the 70th Anniversary screening of Pinnochio at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood in january, 2009.
With him is Don Hahn, a long time executive producer from the Disney Studio. Eric explains posing the character, animating dialogue and how the exposure sheet works.
Re: Lessons learned from Eric GoldbergA couple more videos of Eric Golberg at lasy year's (2009) CTNX in Burbank, hanging out at the Marriot, discussing how he approaches his animation.
Here he discusses how he charts his animation, favoring the importance of each drawing over how he spaces the drawings. And here, he discusses pose to pose animation, and how it's beneficial even in CGI.
