We can all learn from Jazz

Postby Charles » Tue Nov 23, 2010 2:38 am

Around ten years ago, Ken Burns produced a landmark documentary on jazz music. Here's the first part of it, the introduction. Listen if you would and see the correlation jazz has to spontaneous creativity, and to creativity in general.

Jazz is a truly beautiful, inspiring and brilliant art form. America's gift to the world. As artists we can all learn from jazz and the musicians who pioneered the sound and made it great and an indispensable part of our cultural heritage. Just like animation, it's in the fabric of who we are as a people.
