Problem with motif

Postby TransRobo » Tue Apr 09, 2013 8:01 am

It's about my project G-Biking, an animated series about futuristic hovercraft racing.

I was thinking of changing the motif of the Canadian team (Most recently their bikes have been based on a fox, a goose and a bear), because two members (including the leader) are human, but one is an alien reptile girl. Her bike was originally going to be bear-based, but then I started to feel it wouldn't be appropriate to give a reptilian character a mammalian bike.

So I was searching for whatever reptiles were exclusive to Canada, or at least more common in Canada than any other country, and I came up really short in that effort (most of the ones I saw didn't scream Canadian enough for me).

Then I learned that North America has the most fossils discovered out of all parts of the world, and what could be more NORTH American than Canada? So I was thinking of changing Team Canada to a prehistoric motif. I've already figured out that the girl's bike would be based on a dinosaur and one of the other bikes would be pterosaur based, but what about their leader's bike? What should his bike be based on if I keep the prehistoric motif?

The most successful lizard like creatures that roamed the earth were dinosaurs and Canada has plenty of their fossils to prove how popular a place it was back then for them. Toronto's NBA team is called The Raptors. Why not go with something similar.

Thanks Charles, but what if it seems excessive to have 2 bikes that are dinosaur-based, and one that is not (since pterosaurs don't count as dinosaurs)?

Hoe about one being a dinosaur and the other a prehistoric mammal like a saber tooth tiger.

I was really hoping that would work out.

The only problem I've been having is naming such a bike.

What would it be named? Red Saber? Red Tiger? Red Sabertooth? Red Smilodon?

I don't know. That's something you'll have to work out.

The word that comes to mind is involving "chopper" in some way.
