Shape transformations WITHOUT shape hints in After Effects?

Hi guys,

Im trying to figure out how to transform two shapes WITHOUT using shape hints in After Effects. Does anyone know how to do this?


I have tried googling youtube tutorials but I cant find anything that shows how to do this
