Rivet Wars - More Kickstarter $ucce$$There's more than a few reasons why I've been fixated on Kickstarter and crowdfunding campaigns the past few months.
One of them being that no industry centric site I know of promotes these campaigns or even acknowledges them unless they can create a controversy out of it. Another is my fascination with the success many of these campaigns are experiencing. Here's another one. It's for a strategy game called "Rivet Wars". The initial goal was $25,000. Thanks to 1,022 backers as of this date it's raised $161,176 in funding with 26 days to go in the campaign. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coo ... rivet-wars? Amazing! Imagine the elation these creative individuals are experiencing seeing these results! Projects that would likely never see the light of day are getting a chance to come to fruition. The public through crowdfunding efforts are providing them with more more than enough resources to see things through. It's not just success, it's over the top success! And the story is repeated over and over again with a great many projects finding their way through at all sorts of levels thanks to crowdfunding. Here's Ted Terranova, the creator of Rivet Wars describing what his project is about...
Re: Rivet Wars - More Kickstarter $ucce$$I wonder how many artists working in animation have ever heard of Ted Terranova in Atlanta, Georgia.
Well, here's an update on Ted's "Rivet Wars" Kickstarter campaign... 1,295 backers pledging $215,000 with another 20 days to go. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coo ... rivet-wars Ted is making more money with his campaign than most artists working in animation over the course of two years.
Re: Rivet Wars - More Kickstarter $ucce$$Okay folks. You might wanna sit down for this. Or better yet stand up and cheer for the incredible things that are happening for independent entrepreneurial creators in our community.
Here's the results of Ted Terranova's "Rivet Wars" campaign on Kickstarter. Initial Goal: $25,000 Backers: 2,464 Funds raised: $582,316 http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coo ... rivet-wars That's right guys and gals. Generated more than 23 times its goal! More than half a million dollars approaching $600 K !!! It would take a studio artist in LA making union journeyman's pay scale of $1600 a week a full 7 years to gross this much money and this artist out of Altanta, Georgia did it in a few weeks! Still doubt what's happening in this end of the biz? Independent content creator artists are becoming more successful than their work for hire counterparts regardless of their location. Something to think about and celebrate! No matter who you are or what you do, this new system called crowdfunding is available to all and the success these artists are experiencing reflects very favorably upon all of us! It's a new era that we're in!
