Michel Gagne's 'Saga of Rex' on Kickstarter

We've had a long and positive relationship with the great Michel Gagne. He was a member of AN for many years. An extraordinary animation talent who's successful independently as well as through his association with the studios.

Michel has a Kickstarter campaign in the works involving his ongoing project "The Saga of Rex".



Michel explains his goal is to make a film on a shoestring budget that will look like it cost many times its production cost while using his Secret Production Blog to share what he learns, divulge knowledge and give a real insight into his process. A great crash course for students in making a classically animated film.

Thank you all so much. I was practically in tears when I saw the results of the campaign. So unbelievable! A few months back, I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to get started on The Saga of Rex Movie. I had already planned to relocate for a bit, and go work for one of the big studios for a few months in order to save up some money—so that I could return to my independent work as soon as possible. Just before I started putting a portfolio together, I decided to invest the time building a Kickstarter campaign instead. So glad I did! And you, my friends, have now given me your vote of confidence and the opportunity to do this film. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have some big plans ahead, and will share more in the coming days. For now, Nancy and I will take the rest of this Thanksgiving weekend off and we will be back in touch on Monday with a survey for all the backers. At that point, you can let us know about your item choices, your addresses and special requests.
