Any Accelerated Animation Courses Out There?

Postby Greg B » Fri Sep 28, 2012 3:19 pm

Charles, ANers,

Are there any accelerated animation courses out there?

Or is it the same old four years of misery to get a degree and then more training?

Hey Greg. The most popular accelerated course for CG animation that I'm aware of is Animation Mentor which is an online program and takes around a year and a half to complete.

http://www.animationmentor.com/

There's also iAnimate which has gained in popularity and does well with their students.

There's more programs online for CG animation but these are the two I'm immediately aware of.

Of course, the best accelerated course for animation in general in my opinion and the most cost effective as well is this one...

Thanks Charles.

Is that a 2D animation tutorial? I see the CGI ones.

In my opinion the perhaps the best accelerated traditional hand drawn 2D course in the LA area is the one I teach when I'm teaching it. It's basic and effective. For online classes try a Google search for '2d animation course online' or 'traditional animation course online' and see what comes up. Word of caution based upon what I've heard about the school, avoid The Art Institute franchise. Google shows they have online classes for 2D animation but I'd go someplace else. You can also try YouTube and see what's happening there.
