Scientists say it's not likely we'll see its return, we should adapt to the changes cuz they're here to stay.

They are possibly discovering that it may be because the water or whatever is below the ice is getting warmer. The more the ice melts, the more it will keep melting because the earth and sea around the ice keeps getting warmer. It's getting locked into a warming cycle now so it will probably keep going that direction until the ice is totally or mostly gone and the oceans are as full as they can be. The world seems to be slowly changing but I think it has been for a very very long time. We are just not as aware of it because we haven't been around long enough to know anything.
