Hundreds dead after quake, tsunami slam Japan
8.9-magnitude earthquake off northeast coast is fifth largest since 1900 worldwide
TOKYO — A magnitude 8.9 earthquake — the biggest in modern Japanese history — slammed the island nation's eastern coast Friday afternoon, unleashing a 23-foot tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland and prompting a "nuclear emergency."

The USGS boosted the magnitude to 9.1.
That's some scary stuff. The videos coming out are astounding.
Now several nuclear plants are on alert as they have had malfunctions. When it comes to nuclear accidents we've been lied to before regarding amounts of radiation released. Three Mile Island and Chernobyl but in this case we have four or five plants shutting down and two on emergency troubleshooting.
If the Los Angeles Basin had been hit by a tsunami of the same magnitude and power Santa Monica to Beverly Hills, Culver City, and Inglewood would have been destroyed or swamped.
Thousands of bodies are being uncovered in the rubble.

Well the Earth's still here five days later. Fear of radioactive contamination is here and there and lots of confusing information from government, scientists, and press.
If we're still here by Wednesday morning, we'll be out of danger. It's a heartbreaking thing to see. The loss is heavy to bear.
The situation in Tokyo is very bad. Residents are being told not to drink tap water. It looks as if the entire city and large areas of the country will have to be evacuated.
