Career in Concepts Seminar-Scholarships availableNext Saturday we're having an amazing event that I mentioned before that now has 7 concept artists talking about their craft for two FULL days. We have a portfolio review and industry mixer on saturday night from 6pm-10pm.
Were just got word that we're offering limited scholarships that are $47.50. Half of the price will be paid by Illustration.org. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Film and Game Concept Artists to Share Secrets at Two Day Seminar Seven movie and game concept artists will explain their individual processes in a two days seminar that covers characters, creatures, environments, and vehicles on April 30th and May 1st. Each artists will do live demonstrations of their techniques,along with sharing 10 things that they have learned over their careers to pass on to students who want to become concept artists for film and games. Anthony Francisco-designed for BubbleBoy, Evolution, Spiderman, AI., MIB2, Chronicles of Riddick, Superman Returns, and Species 3 to name a few. He started his game career on NCSoft on Guild Wars and Tabula Rasa. He continued work on Project Offset and now currently does work as a freelance game concept artist. Brian Yam- currently a concept artist in the entertainment industry. He’s develops concepts for games and film studios such as Insomniac Games where he worked on Ratchet, and Clank and Resistance Fall of Men,Imagi Animation Studios working on Gatchaman, Naughty Dog, ImageMovers Digital. And currently Spark Unlimited. Jonathan Bach-is a concept artist with over 5 years of experience in the film, game and commercial industries. He attended Art Center College of Design where he focused on transportation and entertainment design. He left in 2006 to break ground on the development of an untitled Star Wars live-action television series and has since worked on several films including, Iron Man 2, the upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful, and is working on a game in development for Square Enix. David Hobbins-Lucas film and Imagemovers Digital., and is currently a freelance concept artist. Jerad Marantz -Suckerpunch, Clash of Titans, Infamous, Jonah Hex. He also worked on Richard Garriot’s Tabula Rasa, ” Guild Wars and Lineage Forever. He has also freelanced for Midway (Surreal Games),THQ and Climax Jung Park- God of War III, and Starhawk, Battle Los Angeles,, NC Soft, Midway games, as well as the Wizards of the Coast as an illustrator. Steve Jung- His clients include studios in video games and the feature film industry and he has worked with companies such as Paramount, Dreamworks SKG, Marvel Enterprises, Walt Disney Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers. He has worked such on films such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Thor, Battleship and Tron Legacy. He is currently working on The Avengers for Marvel Studios Students will have the chance to listen to and ask questions of these industry professionals on the weekend of April 30th and May 1st at the Pasadena Marriott Courtyard. A Saturday night mixer will follow after Saturday’s lecture sessions with industry guests from Dreamworks, Disney,Sony and EA. 6 concept artists, 1 location, 60 strategies for breaking into film and games as a concept artist. Saturday April 30th 2011 through Sunday May 1st 2011, at the Marriott Courtyard in Pasadena,CA.
