Looks like these two schools are using this to promote their students stuff & hopefully get them jobs. Kind of like Charles sometimes does with AN nights.

Hail and hello Meltdown Minions! We have a great event coming up on Saturday, February 26 from 12 to 6pm. Jim Higgins, Program Director and Head Instructor of Meltdown University has invited his comics students from Otis College of Art and Design and CalArts to the gallery space to set up a comics mini-convention. There will be a few dozen comics by these very talented students, minicomics of all types: fantasy, slice-of-life, autobiography, science fiction, horror, humor, and the completely uncategorizable! There will also be art prints, buttons, and other items on sale featuring the students’ work.

Come down on Saturday the 26th, support up-and-coming artists, and get yourself some great new comics by these future illustrators and animators. It’ll be a festive atmosphere with music and refreshements. Our own Indie Con right here at Meltdown!
