Bento Box - "Bob's Burgers" - debuts tonight Jan 9 '11

You can tell how good a show is by the comments on some of the animation blogs. If a couple are positive, and the rest not that over the top in their negative feelings towards it, then generally it's done pretty good among the animation crowd.

How it does with the viewing public is another matter, as the two sides can sometimes be a world apart in how they see animation.

Bento Box is an animation studio in Burbank. Actually, they're located the next block over from where my office is located. I pass by the place routinely and know a few artists that work there. Sometimes I'll see a friend hanging out in front and we'll catch up on things.

Their show is called "Bob's Burgers" and it airs on FOX tonight. In fact, it's on as I'm writing this.

Wishing Bento Box and the crew much success with the show, and I hope you guys continue to serve em up hot and juicy.

The viewing public pulled another fast one on all those animation experts and pundits out there in the community who didn't have much of an encouraging word to say for Bob's Burgers.

The show did pretty darn good in its debut, scoring big with audiences and turning out to be the highest rated debut of any new show on TV this season. That goes for both adults and teens.

Like it or not, what the viewing public decides is a hit is a hit.
